What it is
Annealing, solution treating, aging or stress relieving in a vacuum or inert atmosphere furnace. Required for reactive metals, which would otherwise pick up oxygen and form a brittle surface layer.

Tungsten is named explicitly in the metals list. Vacuum processing matters on refractory metals because they oxidise readily at temperature. Largest unit is 48 ft long with 150,000 lb capacity; Nadcap heat treating approved and ITAR compliant. NOTE: molybdenum is NOT in the published metals list, so do not assume the same approval covers it.
