I need parts anodized, passivated, shot peened or coated to an aerospace specification. Who holds the NADCAP scope?
What it is
Chemical and mechanical surface processes including anodizing, passivation, chemical conversion coating, chemical milling, shot peening and coating application. Each is a separately accredited NADCAP scope, so holding one implies nothing about the others.

Electropolishing and passivation in house. Passivation is what restores the chromium oxide layer after machining stainless, and skipping it is a corrosion failure waiting to happen.

Metallurgical coatings, plus Kolsterising. A proprietary Bodycote process that surface hardens stainless steel without reducing its corrosion resistance, which is normally the trade-off. CAVEAT: Bodycote operates 245 plants in 21 countries and WHICH plant holds WHICH approval is not established from these sources. A NADCAP thermal processing approval belongs to a furnace at a named site, not to the corporate brand. Confirm the plant before qualifying to it.
