Tungsten Powder

I need US-produced powder for additive manufacturing. Who atomizes it, by what method, and in what cut?

What it is

Spherical or irregular particulate feedstock for additive manufacturing, metal injection molding and hot isostatic pressed near net shapes. Produced by gas atomization, plasma atomization, plasma rotating electrode process or hydride dehydride.

Typical dimensions
Sold by particle size distribution, commonly 15 to 45 or 45 to 106 micron cuts.
Also known as
metal powder, AM feedstock, atomized powder, spherical powder

Suppliers

Grouped by what they actually are. A mill and a distributor answer different needs.

    AS9100

Tungsten additive powder. Relevant to how concentrated the domestic refractory metal base is: very few US sources exist across tungsten, molybdenum and tantalum.

  • Kennametal Reported
Latrobe, PA · Mill Converter Recycler

Recovers tungsten carbide from scrap inserts and consumed product through zinc reclaim at Huntsville, Alabama. Research indicates the recovered powder feeds Kennametal's own tool production rather than being sold as merchant powder, so do NOT treat this as a source of purchasable tungsten powder without confirming it directly.
