What it is
Fusion and solid state joining. Reactive metals require inert gas shielding or vacuum, since atmospheric contamination embrittles the weld.

Electron beam and laser welding, with titanium named in the material list. Titanium must be welded out of contact with air, which is why vacuum EB suits it. CAVEAT: Bodycote operates 245 plants in 21 countries and WHICH plant holds WHICH approval is not established from these sources. A NADCAP thermal processing approval belongs to a furnace at a named site, not to the corporate brand. Confirm the plant before qualifying to it.
