Titanium Surface Treatment and Finishing
I need parts anodized, passivated, shot peened or coated to an aerospace specification. Who holds the NADCAP scope?
What it is
Chemical and mechanical surface processes including anodizing, passivation, chemical conversion coating, chemical milling, shot peening and coating application. Each is a separately accredited NADCAP scope, so holding one implies nothing about the others.

Companies that perform this process on customer material.
-
Atomic Machine VerifiedAS9100
Electropolishing and laser marking. Laser marking rather than stamping matters on thin or fatigue-critical parts.

Bodycote Reported
Metallurgical coatings, with titanium named in the material list. CAVEAT: Bodycote operates 245 plants in 21 countries and WHICH plant holds WHICH approval is not established from these sources. A NADCAP thermal processing approval belongs to a furnace at a named site, not to the corporate brand. Confirm the plant before qualifying to it.

Shot peening is fatigue-life critical on titanium rotating and landing gear hardware. NADCAP scope is granted per process. Confirm the specific scope and the customer approval for your spec.

Dynomax, Inc. VerifiedAS9100
Plating and finishing in house, which removes a hand-off between the machinist and the finisher.

Praxair Surface Technologies Reported
Surface engineering covering diffusion coatings, electrodeposition, engineered slurries, laser cladding, thermal spray and vapour deposition, including the SermeTel CF and SermaLoy JCF chromium(VI)-free systems that address hexavalent chrome obsolescence. This is a global network of 35-plus sites and WHICH plant runs a given process is not established. Confirm the site, and the NADCAP scope, before qualifying to it.
