Tantalum Refractory Metal Machining
I have a tungsten or molybdenum part and my usual machine shop turned it down. Who will actually cut it?
What it is
Machining, EDM, waterjet cutting and grinding of tungsten, molybdenum, tantalum and niobium. A distinct capability from general CNC work: these metals are brittle at room temperature, punishing on tooling, and most job shops will decline them outright.
