Molybdenum Bar and Rod
Who supplies bar in this alloy, diameter and condition?
What it is
Solid long product in round, square, hexagonal or rectangular section, supplied to finished size and tolerance for machining. Produced by hot rolling or forging followed by straightening, and often centerless ground or turned.
- Typical dimensions
- Roughly 0.125 to 12 inches diameter.
- Also known as
- bars, rod, round bar, flat bar, hex bar, bar stock
Suppliers
Grouped by what they actually are. A mill and a distributor answer different needs.

Companies that manufacture this form. Mill direct means longer lead times and mill minimums, with full melt traceability.

Elmet Technologies VerifiedAS9100Pure Molybdenum, TZM
Fully integrated US production covering pure molybdenum and TZM. Rod, wire, sheet, plate, foil and powder, plus fasteners, gun-drilled rod and glass melting electrodes. Alloys include TZM, lanthanated molybdenum, HCT potassium-doped molybdenum, Mo-Ta and Mo-W. Melt origin is recorded as not-applicable because this is a powder metallurgy route: doped powder is pressed, sintered and worked to fully dense product, and nothing is melted. Do not read DFARS 252.225-7009 specialty metals onto this. For tungsten the governing restriction is 10 U.S.C. 4872, which bars metal melted OR PRODUCED in China, Russia, North Korea or Iran, so the question to ask is where the powder came from. Elmet is US-owned and operated, but the US has essentially no tungsten mine production, and powder origin is not published. Confirm it per lot.

Distributors and stockists 1
Companies that hold inventory for resale. Faster and available in small quantities, at a markup. Ask what mill the material came from if traceability matters.

The Rembar Company Verified
Distributor stock. Establish grade and mill certification per heat rather than from the catalog listing. Includes TZM and other molybdenum alloys.
